Cruisin' The Midway Bar & Grill

The call it "The World Famous Midway Bar & Grill Cruise" and after lots of invites over the year...we were finally able to visit and confirm if it really was... "World Famous!"

"Just follow the traffic and when it slows to a crawl, you'll know you're there" said one cruiser we met at a gas station on I-376 near Beaver, Pa. who we followed for the rest of the trip!

So how do you get there and where is Potter Township, Pa.? 

"Well", said one cruiser at the event, "it's right along the Ohio River, close to Monaca, Pa. on Rte 18 and just a hop, skip and a jump from East Liverpool, Oh....and if ya go that way you can see the world famous teapot in Chester, WV.! (I know what you're sayin' - just hold on)

(CAPTION:)  Yes we visited the "Worlds Largest Teapot" in Chester, WV. built in 1938 and is 14 feet high and no there's no tea samples, or tea-shirts !

...as we would later find out, it was rather close to East Liverpool, Oh., follow Rte 30 to Rte 151 to Rte 18, (in reverse order) which is the way we went home and that was only about 20 minutes from the Midway to East Liverpool!

We got there right on schedule as the "World Famous" was already 200 cars strong... within an hour...the car count was nearing 400 !

All I can say is, Holy Cruise-ins" Batman... it's just cars and more cars.   And get this, you've heard people say they won't go to a car cruise if there's "gravel"?  Let me de-bunk that saying... as one of the World Famous Midway cruisers said, "We don't care, nobody spits up gravel, we're just there to have fun!"

...and don't think for minute that show cars don't show up....here's a great example of one that's "show and go"!

The World Famous Midway Bar & Grill hosts their cruise-ins, sort-of and just about every other Wednesday and quite possibly 3 times a month, and sometimes once a month... so you've got to remember these dates for 2012:

Wed. June 6 & 20, 2012

Wed. July 18, 2012

Wed. Aug 1, 15, 29, 2012

Wed. Sept 12 & 26th. 

...Oldies are constantly jamin' the air along with door prizes to keep everybody happy.

The particular night we were there it was a big fund raiser for MDA and not only were their cars but tons of motorcycles showed up in support for the Muscular Dystrophy benefit.

If you're looking for something "Completely Different" and not the "usual parking lot affair"...you'll want to visit the Midway Bar & Grill Cruise-In at least once for 2012 and yes... after sampling the Burgers and buyin' a Tee-Shirt....I can safely say it is "World Famous !"
