Huntington World of Wheels
March 5, 6 & 7, 2010
by John Shapiro, editor
Now in it’s 33rd year, the Huntington World of Wheels Indoor car show continues the tradition that show promoter Richard Wheeler originally intended. And that’s “keep giving people fresh cars and a good bang for the buck and they’ll keep coming back”. And that they have, year after year.
(CAPTION: The Huntington World of Wheels indoor show is held at the Big Sandy Superstore sponsored downtown arena. You'll find the downtown totally renovated and very virbrant, lots of restaurants and hotels within walking distance as well as easy access to parking garages right across the street.
We had heard about this show a few years ago and decided to take Richards' offer to come down and take a look. What we found was very impressive.
Some of the finest street machines, hot rods and cool customs the tri-state have made their way to the Huntington World of Wheels over the past 33 years. This two tone ‘51 Chevy pick up belongs to Greg Dickess of Ironton, Oh.

CAPTION: You'll find lots of vendors to help you complete your winter project.
A unique facet of the show is the swap meet that’s held in the surrounding walkways along with a car corral. As we meandered around we couldn’t help notice Wheelers attention to keeping the show balanced with a good mixture of fine show cars, drag cars, pedal cars and vendors.
The show is sponsored by J. Taylor Auto Collection World of Wheels and co-sponsored by Cooper Trucks & Accessories, LLC, Car Stuff Unlimited, and David Smith Frame Shop.

Of course, we always recommend a special place to eat and this trip (2010) we visited a 50 year old hot dog stand called Frostop which had a revolving root beer mug on the top of the drive-in restaurant.

Best thing is, spectator admission is only $7. bucks! We'll have our Cruisin’ Times Magazine booth at this years show, all 3 days, March 5, 6 & 7, (2010).
Show Hours: Fri Noon - 10pm, Sat Noon-10pm, Sun Noon-6pm. $7. admittance, parking across the street.
So all your southern Ohio, KY. and WV. cruisers stop by and say hello, and be sure to drop off your car show or cruise-in flyer so we can list them in the mag and the website. Info: 304-522-4140
