Gasser Meets Moves to Norwalk's

Rumors are true, this time.  The long time Gasser Magazine "Gasser Reunion" held at Thompson Raceway Park, will move in 2010 to Summit Motorsports Park for the Independence 2010 weekend.

After 8 years, this past year, 2009, being their biggest and best of all the races, what started out as a nostalgia race, grew into one of the biggest in the nation.   Now with a new date and a new drag strip, the Gasser Magazine Gasser Reunion will move to to Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk Ohio, July 2-4, 2010.

In fact, as of this moment the tally for the Cruisin' Times Top Ten Regional Events has The Thompson Gasser Reunion at the top of the list beating out the NHRA Bowling Green Hot Rod Reunion as the most liked event by Cruisin' Times Magazine readers.

It's always been a rumor, said Ernst McIntyre publisher of Gasser Magazine who puts on the race, "We've always had drag strips calling us wanting to take the event and move it to their track, but after totally packing Thompson in June of '09, we knew our growth had no where to go... so we had to move."

Summit Motorsports Park offers almost unlimited parking, asphalt pits, grandstands to seat thousands.  "It's a shame we had to leave Thompson but it's just a business decision", stated McIntyre.

On the same token, Thompson Raceway Park, who had originated the race as a nostalgia race 9 years ago before bring Gasser Magazine on board has announced plans for a Nostalgia Nationals Event of their own said track manager Jim Curtis, "It'll be held on the same weekend, the first weekend of June and will incompass all the things that racers and spectators have become familiar with in the past.  Details are being worked out but we will be advertising it in the Cruisin' Times magazine and website soon."

So now they'll be two.... (Tent date) June 5 & 6, 2010 for the Thompson Nostalgia Nationals and the Gasser Magazine Gasser Reunion Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, Oh.
